Our County

The Harpenden and Wheathampstead District forms part of Hertfordshire County Scouts.  During their time as Scouts, our members will have the opportunity to take part in county wide events such as Green Beret, Beavers in Tents and the County Cub Cyclo-Cross. The County also provides international opportunities that older young people may partake in.  If you or your young person decide to become a Young or Adult Leader, the County will provide all the training you need.

Our County also run a number of Activity centres where we often go to take part in outdoor activities and to run camps.

More information can be found on the Hertfordshire Scouts website.

UK Scout Association

During their time in Scouting, Members will have the opportunity to take part in nationally run initiatives like the Wellbeing Champions, A Million Hands and The Great Indoors.

World Scout Organisation

Scouting was started in the UK by Robert Baden Powell and quickly spread all over the world. There are now more than 50 million Scouts, youth and adults, in over 200 countries and territories.*

World scouting aims to allow young people to "Create a Better World" and during their time as a scouter, young people have the opportunity to learn about international cultures and support global issues, both with their sections and through nationally or internationally organised initiatives and events.
